TechnipFMC and Loke presented at the ONS 2022: Subsea Technology for sustainable extraction of seabed minerals

The need for minerals critical to the green transition is increasing substantially and the way forward is fully dependent on them. Large reserves are available under water, for example 96% of the world’s remaining cobalt. Subsea mining will play a key role but the extraction must be done sustainably. That won’t happen without knowledge from the oil and gas industry. Norway can lead that drive and even become a dominant technology player and operator in marine minerals.
